We Say - These Hi-Tec Eurotrek walking shoes are one of the best pairs of shoes I’ve ever owned. I’ve worn them for hiking, yes, but where they’ve really impressed me is at work. I’m on my feet 12 hours a day whilst working as a porter at a hospital and I decided to get these shoes for work as the pair I had given me by the NHS weren’t too comfortable. In fact, I used to come home with badly aching feet, and it was beginning to effect how I felt about work.

These Hi-Tec were comfy from the moment I put them on, and I can honestly say that my feet do not ache at the end of my shift. I can cover up to 12 miles plus a day with no problems at all; my feet don’t even feel tired or sweaty as they used to.

The only issue is the cleats which the laces go through; these make it awkward to tighten the laces when worn as I’m using them. They’re great for when you’re outdoors with cold fingers and you need to tie your laces, like, when you get out of your tent and it’s chilly and your morning brew hasn’t warmed you up enough but you’ve still got to get going and put your clothes on and pack, etc, but I don’t do much of that so for me, perhaps eye holes may be better.

I know what you’re thinking, if I didn’t want walking boots for the outdoor life then perhaps a standard pair of shoes (Air Wares, etc) might have been a better choice. The thing is though, these Hi-Tec shoes are more comfy than all the others I tried out when I checked out a few pairs in the shops, so that’s why I got them.

Other than this small cleat issue though, this is an excellent product, good for the outdoors (I’ve tested them out on the North Downs in rain and yes, they’re waterproof as stated) and for work. They’re easy to clean and the leather shines up really smartly as well, making them my ideal choice if you want a mix of hard wearing, comfy and smart.
