We Say – We’ve been wearing these as our team shirts during this year’s events.Â
Dave S - The word ‘technical’ is thrown around quite a bit with sports clothing but it’s amazing just how different technical clothing can be from one manufacturer to another. In the past I’ve worn technical t-shirts which turn into sandpaper as soon as there’s the tiniest amount of humidity in the air, but with this Columbia shirt I was seriously impressed with just how comfortable the fit was and how great it felt while running – especially when soaked through following one of Spartan Race’s many water obstacles! One point worth making which may be a negative to some is that although I found the shirt perfect for my body shape, it was a very snug fit so unless you like tight fitting sports clothing it may be worth going for a size up from your usual shirt size.
Stu - When I was given the technical shirts I was a little worried at first because the shirts are tight fitting and I’ve never worn a shirt that is tight fitting to run in. The first time I put it on I was pleased that it fitted well and I didn’t feel restricted by the tightness at all. I wore it for a 3 mile run on a day where it was 26 degrees out – I do overheat very quickly on hot days but still went for the run – I found the shirt was breathable and my body temperature was OK for the run. I have worn it a lot since, running distances up to 10 miles. The ‘Runners Nipples’ I have suffered with previously have not affected me in this top and no rubbing has occurred at all. The top has kept me cool on hot days and warm on cold days. I have worn these a lot which means they have been sweated in and washed regularly. They have no after smell lingering like some tops I have worn a lot to train in. They’re also well made and haven’t fallen apart at all.Â
Dave W – Very comfy shirts, I’ve never had any issues with chaffing at all, even when wearing for marathon distance runs. The cooling effect makes itself very known when I crest hills or when there’s a little wind and at those times I really do feel noticeably cooler and refreshed. I like the black colour, the printing shows up nicely and they also look great, and also the other colour we have the shirts in – blue – is decent too.
We had our logo printed front and back…
…and after several months of racing and washing the printing still appears fresh, so if you’re searching for a team shirt that’s going to look smart time after time, then these are a good choice.
