We Say - These trousers are, like the Gore Bikewear Element Jacket I wear with them (see our review of the jacket here), a great piece of kit. I’ve been wearing them for just over two months (from September to December) and now know that there’s no chance of me getting wet or cold when I’m wearing them. Even in the cold winter that’s recently descended on us in England I only ever wear my Gore shorts underneath these trousers on my commute (it’s about 8 miles round trip so only takes me about 15 minutes to get in each day, although that was plenty of time to get soaked through when I wore my old waterproofs) and am never anything other than very comfortable and dry when I reach work.

The reflective strips on the back of the legs are a great help for making sure I’m seen during these dark winter days and the velcro straps at the ankle are well placed to take up the slack which means the trousers are easy to put on but also not flapping about in the wind and getting caught in the chain once I get going.

Like the Gore Element jacket I wear with them, these trousers dry out very quickly. If it’s raining on the way to work I know that all I have to do is hang them up in my locker and they’ll be dry and easy to put back on once it’s time to cycle home, eight hours later.

There’s little more to say apart from I’m really impressed with the trousers, they’re totally water and wind resistant, very comfy and that they’re by far the best cycling waterproofs I’ve ever had (and I’ve been cycling for the past 25 years). If I didn’t already have them I’m want them for Christmas.
