We Say - This cycling jacket is one of the best I have ever had. It”s ideal for commuting to work (my commute is about 8 miles round trip, mostly on road);  I only have to wear my other long sleeved Gore bike top underneath (see our review of it here) and it keeps me warm and dry even in the heaviest of rain.

I’ve been wearing it for just overt two months, from September to December (so during some of the worst English we’ve had so far this year) and even with the recent cold and wind it has kept me comfortable. The high viz is important during the dark winter nights, I feel safe knowing that most if not all car drivers aren’t going to miss me when I wear this, regardless of whether it’s day or night, main road or backstreet…

The back pocket is big enough to get my lunch in and the front pocket is more than adequate to hold my work ID card, house keys and locker keys which allows me to cycle without carrying a ruck sack.

The jacket dries out quickly – I put it in my locker in the morning and by the time I am due to  go home, usually eight hours later, it’s dry, which means I’m not having to pull wet gear on for my homeward journey (very important to me, I hate having to struggle to pull on wet gear after a hard shift).

Overall you certainly get what you pay for, so although Gore kit can be pricey it’s well worth it. This jacket is totally weather proof, very comfortable and all I need for my daily commute. I give this Gore Bikewear ELEMENT GORE-TEX® Active Jacket a big recommend!
