We Say – I used these gloves for running and hiking in England, they were fine for winter seaside temperatures there (about 5 degrees with a 20 mph wind), didn’t take long to dry out if they got too sweaty and they took 4 or 5 wears before they smelt like they needed a wash. But now I’m in Canada, where the winter temperature has been hovering between minus 5 and minus 25 (tomorrow it’s going to be only minus 1 – the locals are thinking of going to the beach it’s so warm) I’ve had to use them in conjunction with the Result sports glove, which is a larger, windproof style. Without that my fingers would freeze due to the sweat. Today it was minus 23 and even with both gloves on I had to quit running after an hour due to the sweat starting to freeze up.
So, I’m not saying the gloves are perfect by any means, but they are fine for running or hiking during the average warm-ish English winter day, when temperatures are around the 5 or 6 degree mark. They’ll also be perfect for the autumn and spring. They’re thin and it’s easy to tie your shoelaces/operate your camera/open your bag/deal with money or keys when you’re wearing them. Another advantage of them being so thin is you can use them under larger gloves, as I do, if the temperature plummets.
As always with the Result brand, these are great value – just £6.95.
