They Say - ‘Millbrook and Glenbrook is original Brooks Saddle holdalls first produced in the 1950’s. Such designs were originally commissioned to cater for cyclists wishing to transport food, cameras, maps and handbooks and provided sturdy pockets for tools, repair outfits, oil cans and such like. These sympathetically reproduced, most stylish of designs, are suitable for both the tourers and the collectors, wishing to complement their vintage ride. The Glenbrook, which is larger, also features 2 side pockets.’

We Say -‘Made of faux leather like the original models, the Millbrook is a classy vintage looking saddlebag. The straps are made of leather while the body of the bag is of man made material to aid with water resistance. The bag has the look and feel of leather and most people to date didn’t realise that it was man made – so the best of both worlds. It is not a light bag but does seem to be very tough and long lasting.

It can adequately store and keep dry just about enough stuff for a day ride. I managed to store an inner tube, repair kit, mini-tools, arm-warmers, gilet, lock and some food.

When climbing out of the saddle the bag did not suffer from swinging like its bigger brother, the Glenbrook. The backs of my legs just miss touching the bag if the saddle is slid in the forward position. Like the Glenbrook, a choice of colours to match their saddles and some form of seat post spacer would have been nice.

In Summary – ‘The great thing with this bag is you can either attach it to your brooks saddle (you’ll need the little hoops that brooks saddles have) or to your handlebars as a front bag. Not a great choice if you’re a racer looking for a bag that is uber light but if you want a bag to last and go with your vintage or retro bike then it would be perfect.’
